3 Things Your Life Insurance Agent Isn’t Talking To You About

When was the last time you reviewed your insurance policy? If you have not done so recently then it would be beneficial to you to add that to the top of your “to do” list. You may have experienced some major life events since the policy was issued that you need to account for and your policy should be adjusted accordingly. Even if you haven’t had any major life changes your financial goals may have shifted. Failing to examine your old policy over time could mean that your family will not have enough money to pay the mortgage or the bills in the event of your death.

While we are on the subject of death, what happens beforehand? For a large percentage of the population their death is a direct result of an injury or lengthy illness. Are you financially prepared to care for yourself and your loved ones through one of those scenarios?  Due to major advancements in medicine you are more likely to survive a catastrophic event than to die from it. How would you pay your bills if you were unable to continue working? Discussions like this are uncomfortable, but important. If we weren’t having them many would not know about the new life insurance that will keep you covered in the event of one of the occurrences.

Accident or Chronic Illness:

If you are in an accident or if you are diagnosed with a chronic illness your old insurance policy will pay you nothing. Life insurance policies generally pay out on death. So if you were stricken with an illness or accident that caused you to be unable to perform your daily activities such as walking, eating, bathing, using the restroom for a period of time.. How would you survive? How would you take care of your obligations?

Critical Illness:

Heart attack, stroke, invasive cancers. Many of us know someone who has been affected by at least one of these. We know that the recovery time for a critical illness can take weeks, even months or years. How will you pay your bills if you were to survive one of these life changing events?

Terminal Illness:

Many policies have a Terminal Illness rider that allows you to access up to 85% of a death benefit policy in 12 months. What if you need something for a longer term than that? With our solution you can access 85% of your benefits up to 24 months.

There is a simple solution to all of this. Life with Living Benefits.

Our Life with Living benefits product is designed to pay up to 85% of your death benefit if diagnosed with a chronic, critical or terminal illness and give you peace of mind, if a serious health condition comes up. That is not the only thing that makes this policy so remarkable, other advantages are:

  • At the age of 65 or younger, the application is SIMPLIFIED, meaning you won’t have to go through the traditional medical underwriting!
  • This policy is guaranteed until the day you die.  The premiums will never increase, and the policy value NEVER goes down.
  • If you decide you do not want the policy any longer, you can cancel it at three specific time periods and get your money back!

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners(NAIC) suggests that you regularly consider a life insurance policy review to determine if your coverage is still appropriate for your situation. We couldn’t agree more! Your life insurance policy was never meant to be a “set it and forget it” document. By doing a regular review with one of our trained professionals you ensure that your policy remains up to date, that your coverage is adequate, and you have the peace of mind in knowing that you have put the needs of your family in the forefront.
