Constant worry and anxiety that causes distress or interferes with daily activities is not a normal part of aging.

It used to be thought that as we got older we become less anxious, but researchers are finding out that anxiety and depression are just as common in old age as it is in younger age groups.

Mental health issues in older adults can often times go undiagnosed as older patients tend to place more emphasis on their physical ailments when they visit a doctor or hospital, often times dismissing a larger looming problem.
